ELIGIBILITY
Higher Secondary / +2 / Senior Secondary or any other equivalent examination passed from any Board/ Council established by the Govt. of India or any State Govt. or any other equivalent examination recognized by Central Board of Secondary Education / Council of Higher Secondary Education, Govt. of Odisha / Dept. of Higher Education / Dept. of Industry or any other Dept. of Govt. of Odisha or Utkal University. Those joining B.Sc. Programme must have passed the above examination under the faculty of Science / Technology / Engineering / Pharmacy etc. There shall be no such restriction for joining BA/B.Com stream.
Students ordinarily may be selected for admission through Entrance Test, Group Discussion and Personal Interview and / or a combination of these with due weightages to career to be decided by the Autonomous College or Director, Higher Education. DDCE would admit students on first come first serve basis. The Govt. of Odisha may lay down admission process for colleges under its control.
Admission Policy would be decided by the Academic Council of the respective Autonomous
Colleges and for affiliated colleges Government will decide the admission policy.
Directorate of Distance & Continuing Education would decide its own admission policy.
DURATION
At least three years of six semesters in toto. In case of professional courses the duration may be more as per the direction of regulatory bodies established under law.
Odd semester is from June to December (i.e., 1st, 3rd & 5th semester). The examination shall be
held normally in the month of November-December.
Even semester is from Janyary to June (i.e. 2nd, 4th & 6th semester). The examination shall be

Out of the above 6 types of subjects a student shall have to offer four elective subjects each carrying maximum of 200 marks i.e. 100 marks for 1st year and 100 marks for the 2nd year. Environmental education will be taught only in the 1st year and Examination for EE will be conducted by the college at the end of the 1st year.
According to the new course structure of CHSE Orissa there shall be one examination to be conducted by the college at the end of 1st year basing on curriculum meant for that year and one examination at the end of 2nd year to be conducted by the council basing on the curriculum meant for that year alone pass certificate shall be awarded to successful candidates basing on the performance in the council examination to be held at the end of 2nd year only.
The examination at the end of the 1st year shall be for 600 marks. In addition to that the examination for environmental education carrying (100 marks for EE, 70+30) shall be completed in that year and the examination at the end of the 2nd year shall be for 600 marks. Marks secured in the 1st year examination shall be considered for promotion of students to the 2nd year class.
Project Report
Students for +2 1st year Arts are required to prepare and submit a project report on EE carrying 30 marks. The project report is to be submitted at the end of 1st year of +2 course and the Grades (A,B,C,D) in order of merit are to be awarded by the college and the same shall be recorded in the body of the pass certificate given by the council subsequently.

Students of +2 IInd year to appear a practical examination for work experience before their Text Examination for which grade A, B, C, D shall be accorded which will be sent to C.H.S.E. Orissa at the time of submission of form for Annual H.S. Examination students failed to appear the said practical work experience shall not be illegible to fill up form.
The +3 Arts stream with 128 seats with following subject has been affiliated to the “UTKAL
UNIVERSITY” Vani Vihar, Bhubaneswar.

A pass student has to take one pass subject and one elective subject as ELA, in addition to the compulsory subject.
There is Hons. teaching facilities in the subject as mentioned below.
Political Science, History-16 seats each Educatiion, Psychology, Sanskrit-16 seats each
A student may take either one of the honours subjects. An honours student has to take one elective subject along with the honours and compulsory subjects.
Note : Students securing 40% in aggregate & 40% in the particular subject are eligible to apply
for Hons.
There is the provision of Practical Examination for Pass subjects only. Elective subjects do not have practical examination.

All the students of +3 Final year degree shall have to take one elective subject as ELB. A student has to select that subject and ELB which must be an other subject than the Pass and Elective a offered in the first year of +3.
All the students of +2 and +3 stream shall have to appear Pre-Test and Test Examinations conducted by the college every year to qualify to fill up the forms for the Annual Examination conducted by C.H.S.E. and University respectively.
Students of +2 1st year are to appear First Year Annual H.S. Examination which is conducted by the College at the end of the 1st year course. The pattern of the examination is as follow.

Important Note
No student will be sent-up for filling-up form to appear C.H.S.E. or University Examination
if he fails to appear Pretest and Test Examination held in the college.
A student can take readmission into the next higher class if only he/she has cleared up the last qualifying examination for has appeared the said examination or has filled-up form for that examination.
Students of +2 vocational stream shall have to appear in the Annual Examination (Theory
+ Practical) conducted by the college at the end of the 1st year to get promotion to the next higher class. The C.H.S.E. Orissa will conduct the Annual H.S. Examination (Vocational) at the end of the second year.

THE ORISSA CONDUCT OF EXAMINATION RULES, 1988
For smooth and fair conduct of the Examination the Govt. of Orissa has passed “The Odisha Conduct of Examination Rules 1988” to restrict unfair means at any stage of any Examination. Any student or person found adopting or taking recourse to unfair means or helping the Examinees during Examinations in side & outside the Examination hall or any person unconnected with the Examination found loitering inside the prohibited area and trying to abet or conspire to use unfairmeans during any recognised Examination will be pubishable under this Act treating his crime as cognible and nonbailable offence and he may be convicted with imprisionment for a team of three months or with fine of Rs. 3000/-
NOTE : The students should bear this in the mind and are advised not to break the Law during Examination period.
Each student should attend all the general, practical and tutorial classes and must secure 75% of the total attendance taken in an academic session. However 10% of the attendance in case of +2 students and 15% in case of degree students may be condoned on production of Medical Certificates.
As per order / intimation of Govt. of Odisha and approval of G.B. Sarankul College the following dress code has been adopted by the college for the students.
